Our Mission
Compete. Educate. Develop.
Representing the United States at the World Tasting Championship while advancing wine education, mentorship, and access.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit running a national wine-education program that also develops the team representing the United States internationally. Your support funds all of it.
Who We Are
A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to elevating American wine culture through competition, education, and community.
What We Do
We train and field the U.S. team at the World Tasting Championship while running wine-education programs open to professionals and enthusiasts nationwide.
Why It Matters
Every dollar supports scholarships, workshops, and the next generation of American wine professionals — not just a trip to the podium.
What We Do
Represent the United States Internationally
We field the United States team at the World Tasting Championship — the most rigorous blind tasting competition on earth, held annually in France and sponsored by La Revue du Vin de France.
Thirty-five or more national teams compete. Twelve unmarked wines. Ten minutes per wine. Teams must identify grape variety, country, region, producer, and vintage — under pressure, in silence.
Placing Team USA on that stage is the competitive heart of everything we do. But it is not the only thing we do.
Provide Deductive & Blind Tasting Education
We host affordable blind tasting workshops open to wine professionals and enthusiasts of all backgrounds — from certified sommeliers to curious beginners.
Our curriculum covers deductive tasting methodology, sensory analysis, regional wine knowledge, and the mental discipline required to perform under competition conditions.
Education is how we grow the sport, build the community, and make the case to grantmakers that our work has impact beyond four people traveling to France.
Build the Next Generation of American Wine Tasters
We identify talented wine professionals across the country and create structured pathways for them to develop the skills, discipline, and team experience required to compete at the international level.
This includes mentorship from current and former team members, access to practice wines and training materials, and exposure to the competitive format before they ever step on a world stage.
A strong pipeline of future competitors is what makes Team USA sustainable — not just this year, but for the next decade.
Create Professional Opportunity Within the Wine Community
We build professional-development, mentorship, and educational opportunities within the wine community — with a deliberate focus on inclusion and access.
We partner with hospitality schools, DEI-focused programs, and industry organizations to expand who gets to participate in competitive wine tasting.
The wine world is better when more voices are at the table. We are committed to making that happen.
