As we prepare for the 2025 World Blind Tasting Championship, our USA Wine Tasting Team is shaping up to be more diverse than ever. This year’s roster brings together both male and female members from across the country, hailing from California, Colorado, and Connecticut. The range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives each person brings is strengthening our approach and sharpening our collective palate.
Building a national team presents unique challenges—training across three time zones means carefully balancing theory work, structured blind tastings, and practical exercises. We are actively refining our methods to accommodate geographical diversity while honoring the individual strengths and insights each member contributes. The result is a team that is greater than the sum of its parts, growing more collaborative and cohesive with every session.
In October, we’ll take this energy to Jura, France, where we’ll compete against teams from over 40 countries. Representing the USA on this global stage is a privilege, and the journey itself is transformative. As we grow as a team, we are also growing as individuals and professionals, sharpening not only our tasting skills but also our communication, trust, and shared commitment to excellence.
One of the greatest rewards of this experience is the opportunity to connect with wine professionals from around the world. The camaraderie, exchange of knowledge, and shared passion for wine make this competition unlike any other. Each step brings us closer as a team and as a part of the global wine community.
